A 14-day state-level handloom textile fair is underway at Barpeta Municipal Playground. Sixty stalls from different parts of India have been displayed. Interestingly, this fair, which began on 10th, is being organized by Rabha Hasong Sahitya Parishad with special financial support from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Traditional handloom products of unique designs being showcased by the weavers from Assam, as well as others from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir, up to the18th sold for a sum of ₹65 lakh in sales volume, making the fair a congregation for local artisans to display their superior quality handloom products.
