By beginning her soap-making business from home, Dipshikha Pathak of Barpeta has become a new symbol of self-reliance and empowerment. She not only made herself financially independent through her soap business but also created employment opportunities for many unemployed youths in her region. In 2020, she began with the basic soap-making process through online resources.
In 2021, she continues her learning about the soap making through which she has also participated in various soap making workshops. Today, what is an entrepreneurship venture with 2-3 thousand rupees that began four years ago from this effort by herself, has flourished in lakhs as turnover from the business venture. In Assam today, her products are sold by her husband, Madhav Pathak, due to their support.
As part of her social responsibility, Dipshikha trains unemployed youth in soap-making besides supplying them with raw materials at reasonable rates. At present, she directly employs six to seven people and has extended the supply network of raw material to neighboring states as well. From her experience, Dipshikha teaches the unemployed youth to succeed in life through hard work.
