YouTuber Dimpu Baruah Scammed During Malaysia Trip: Shocking Travel Agency Fraud Uncovered |
Dimpu Baruah, a popular YouTuber infamous for his love of traveling to exotic locations, has run into serious trouble on a trip to Malaysia and Thailand. It was during his vacation that Dimpu encountered an unexpected incident that exposed a massive scam run by a travel agency based in Guwahati, Assam. Dimpu, along with a friend, was scammed badly during their trip to Langkawi Island in Malaysia.
After taking a gift handed over by someone, Dimpu had flown from Guwahati to Thailand and Malaysia. He landed in Kuala Lumpur with his friend, from where they had a one-hour flight to Langkawi Island. Very excited to visit the island, Dimpu was all set for the day's adventure. However, at the airport, things took a shocking turn when Dimpu went to collect his boarding pass.
Dimpu reached AirAsia counter, looking stunned. The whole booking, made through a Guwahati-based travel agency, turned out to be fraudulent. The moment Dimpu understood the situation, he immediately contacted the agency that had arranged the trip. Firstly, they gave him a vague response and then went silent with no real help. Not only were the Langkawi return tickets but even the return tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok duds. Dimpu and his friend soon realized the predicament that they had landed themselves in the devil's and the deep sea.
Further investigation revealed that the tickets they received to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Thailand were also duplicates. This has exposed a long-running scam in which a Guwahati-based travel agency has been cheating travelers for years. Dimpu, who returned home, intends to file a case against the agency.
This incident is a grim reminder to be cautious not only in international trips but also in local ones. Many have been concerned about such scam practices carried out by some travel agencies in Guwahati. It is high time to verify the details of your trips before you spend a handsome amount of money on them. Some people have been depressed due to this kind of scam practices. Dimpu's real-life experience is a wake-up call for all travelers.
